Professor Wen-Chung Kao elected IEEE Fellow of 2019.

The selection honors his contribution to research development of electrophoretic display technologies.

IEEE is the largest research organization for electrical and electronic engineering, with more than four million members from 160 countries. On November 23, it announces a list of Fellows for 2019; we are delighted to see Prof. Wen-Chung Kao among the names mentioned. While the chance of nomination is one in a thousand, Prof. Kao is recognized for his leadership in the research development of electrophoretic display technologies. This fellowship honors his contribution and at the same time acknowledges his career as a researcher.

A total of 295 IEEE members are promoted to Fellows this year, with only 5 Taiwanese scholars selected. Prof. Kao is the second person in our university to receive this honor. The first one, Prof. Wei-Yen Wang, is also a professor in our department.
